Amoeboid movement
The trailing edge of an amoeba squeezes the cytoplasm inwards and vesicles form by endocytosis. These vesicles are moved along the cytoplasmic network of fibers along the cell, down the pseudopodium and to the leading edge where they fuse with the plasma membrane. Actin and myosin fibers also extend the leading edge. In this way the net movement is forward.
