| The light harvesting system inside a choloroplast is located on stacks of disks called thylakoids; tightly packed grana thylakoids and more loosely packed stroma thylakoids. Light energy is trapped by colored pigments and is converted into electron energy. This electron energy is concentrated and used to form high energy compounds which in turn are used to form stable molecules such as glucose (a sugar). |
