This site has been designed according to the Section 508 Standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.

The Section 508 Standards and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines address the accessibility and usability of web-sites. They make sure that the presented information is accessible to all users regardless of the tools they choose to access it.

All of the graphic images on the site must have a text-only alternative to accommodate users using screen readers or text-only browsers. Without an alternative, the screen reader would simply indicate that there was an image in the flow of the document without being able to let the user know why the image was there. Therefore, standards require that each image in a web-page have a description of the image and its purpose. If a web-page contains an image of a graph, standards require the inclusion of a description, a list of the graph values, or an alternative means with which to access the data contained in the image. Standards do not prohibit the use of web-site graphics or animation. Instead, the standards aim to ensure that such information is also available in an accessible format.

In addition, standards require that the web-page be compatible with different browsers regardless of screen size, operating system, or platform. This provides greater flexibility in selecting a method with which to access web-content.
