Brooklyn College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools is a voluntary, peer-based, non-profit association dedicated to educational excellence and improvement through peer evaluation and accreditation. It is one of six regional accrediting organizations for higher education institutions recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the United States Department of Education. The Middle States review cycle incorporates a site-visit based decennial review and a Periodic Review Report due five years following the institution's most recent site view.
Brooklyn College received its most recent reaffirmation of accreditation from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in June 2009.
