Institutional Effectiveness
Institutional Effectiveness Steering Committee
The members of the Institutional Effectiveness Steering Committee serve as departmental liaisons for implementing outcomes assessment initiatives. The role of the committee is to ensure that information is shared, there is no overlap, and that departments assess rather than evaluate. The Office of the AVP for Budget and Planning also provides guidance and acts as a resource for departments engaged in assessment.
The following are the committee's functions:
- Develop benchmarks and best practices as ways to improve on existing services and departments
- Create an overall assessment schedule for non-instructional units
- Ensure that assessment is an on going process
- Coordinate assessment efforts in order to leverage on existing data
- Assess and examine the broad range of practices and procedures of the institution
