Central Routing

The main function of Central Routing is to facilitate deliveries from various vendors to designated campus areas. These deliveries are only made through private couriers such as UPS, Federal Express, DHL, and FedEx Ground.

UPS

Please keep in mind that central routing only has one account for shipping and that account is with UPS. How does that work? Central Routing obtains authorization sheets for those departments who are authorized to ship out packages. If you are an authorized user and your department has enough funds in your account to accommodate the cost of what you are shipping, your departments OTPS budget will be charged. This service is brought to you through a New York State contract which means pricing is cheaper than normal UPS rates.

Other Carriers

Private carriers use the same fashion but must apply particular rules and regulations and normal pricing. Central routing can assist you in shipping with these carriers, but we will need information like an account number and the destination address and we will do the rest. If you have a prepaid label or a waybill which is already packed and ready to go we can assist you in shipping that way also.

Campus Deliveries

Central Routing also delivers merchandise that is shipped through freight companies, dependant upon actual size of deliveries. We deliver merchandise from STAPLES, A.G.M, QUILL OFFICE SUPPLIES, VIKING OFFICE SUPPLIES, etc. Pallet size deliveries are routed directly to their destination.
