The Planning and Construction unit represents the campus for State and City funded projects. They coordinate with CUNY Central and DASNY, and manage and coordinate the projects with the campus. The unit also provides architectural services for small in-house projects such as office renovations and relocations that are initiated by campus departments.

Their responsibilities include:

• Coordinating all State and City funded projects with the college community.
• Representing the campus with DASNY, CUNY and the consultants they hire for State and City funded projects.
• Assisting DASNY and CUNY with development of scope for projects within a budget designated by the funding source. This also includes developing the scope of projects for CUNY to ask for project funding.
• Initiating requests for repair and upgrade projects with CUNY.
• Providing CUNY with requested information concerning campus statistics.
• Participating on campus committees that require Facilities representation.
• Assisting departments with planning for renovations performed by in-house staff and by handyman contracts.
• Assisting departments with furniture selection and procurement of the furniture.
• Coordinating in-house projects with Custodial and Grounds, HVAC and, Trades Units.
