Office of Facilities - Routine Building Maintenance

The custodial staff regularly clean the college’s extensive facilities. If you need a special cleaning, please submit a Work Request.

The following is the normal cleaning routine (although occasionally unusual workload may cause some tasks to be deferred).

Building entrances	Daily: swept, spot mopped, mats vacuumed, trash removed
Corridors and stairs	Daily: swept, spot mopped, mats vacuumed, trash removed, recycling cans emptied Weekly: dust and wet mopped Typically one corridor per day is polished
Classrooms	Daily: swept, spot mopped, blackboards cleaned, trash removed Weekly: Wet mopped Semi-annually: washed, scrubbed, and waxed
Bathrooms	Twice daily: cleaned, sanitized, re-supplied Quarterly: heavy cleaning
Offices	Daily: trash removed, dust mopped Monthly: Vacuum rugs and dusting of unobstructed areas Annually: carpets cleaned, floors washed and waxed
