October is Technology Month!

OHRM is starting off this year with their traditional  October Technology Month.  Based on the recommendations of CUNY employess, OHRM have changed the "computer basics" class to better respond to the needs of self-taught computer users.  The new class is called Personal Computer Essentials (WTT109) and will be offered on October 2nd.  Other October classes are:  Excel, Levels 1 and 2, Word Level 1, and Power Point Level 1.  Remember that the Microsoft classes (Word, Power Point, Excel) are taught in a manner which makes them appropriate for 2003 and 2007 users.  These classes are $25 each.  The attached October flyer indicates course dates and times.

NEW REQUIREMENT:  employees who register for a WTT technology course other than Personal Computer Essentials are required to take a placement assessment.  The assessment is a questionnaire which will identify the employee's appropriate class level.  For example, if an employee registers for Excel Level 2, the assessment may indicate that the employee  should take Excel Level 1 before taking Excel Level 2.  OHRM has instituted this placement assessment to ensure that the learning experience is appropriate for all attendees.  The assessment is taken on-line.  Course registration cannot be confirmed until the assessment is completed.  Please have your employees register for these October classes as early as possible.

November is Personal Productivity Month!

Three courses are new to the schedule this November.  Attitude is Everything is designed to provide administrative staff with skills for maintaining a positive attitude in the face of setbacks and negativity.  Developing Yourself and Others Through Delegation assists managers and supervisors in cultivating trust, self-awareness and strategic thinking in order to take on new challenges, maximize productivity, increase team performance, and reduce stress.  Taking Charge: Gaining Control of Your Professional and Personal Life provides managers, supervisors, team leaders, and other professionals with personalized skills for taking charge of professional and personal challenges.   We also will offer Effective Telephone Techniques for administrative staff and New Concepts in Project Management for professionals.  Dates, times, and locations for these courses are indicated in the attached November flyer.

December is "Save Yourself" Month!

The holidays are usually a trying time for all of us.  So OHRM will offer three courses in December designed to keep us cool, calm, and productive.  Leading Short-Term Improvement Projects will be offered for managers, supervisors, team leaders, and professionals.  Stressmakers and Stressbreakers:  How to Stress-Proof Your Life is open to all staff.  And Time Management Strategies is provided for administrative staff.  These courses are $60 each per participant.  Course descriptions, dates, and times are provided in the attached December flyer.
