Workers' Compensation
All employees of the City University of New York, are covered by the University's
Workers' Compensation insurance, which is administered by The New York City
Law Department.
Full-time as well as part-time employees are covered regardless of their permanency
or tenure status, and regardless of civil service classification.
If you sustain an injury while on the job you should immediately:
- Call the Department of Campus Safety at Extension 5511 to obtain first aid
or medical treatment.
- Notify your supervisor immediately. Stop by the Payroll Office located in
Boylan Hall, Room 1156 to pick Workers' Compensation forms within 24 hours
of your injury or print one off by clicking here.
- Return the above forms, along with supporting medical documentation to Gwendolyn
Harewood, Payroll/Workers' Compensation Administrator, within 24 hours of
the occurrence.

NOTE: Persons on the payroll of the Research Foundation, auxiliary corporations,
and various independent grants are covered for workers compensation benefits through
the payroll employer of record, not through CUNY.
