Office Profile
The Office of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is responsible for coordinating
environmental health and safety on campus and implementing mandated environmental
and occupational health and safety programs for the College. The EHS staff
also provides technical and administrative support to the campus community
in the areas of chemical and radiation safety, hazardous materials management,
public health sanitation, occupational health & safety, etc.
Office services include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Occupational health and safety
- Hazardous materials management
- Industrial hygiene
- Asbestos and lead surveys
- Indoor air quality
- Laboratory safety
- Accident prevention and injury reporting
- Workers' compensation filing
- Biosafety and infectious waste management
- Chemical waste management & disposal
- Radiation safety and waste disposal
- Hazard communication and training
- Hazardous materials emergency response
In addition to program management, the office maintains service contracts
for radiation safety badges, chemical waste and biomedical waste removal,
plus industrial hygiene, asbestos, and lead analysis. The office is also
actively involved in safety-related issues during renovation and construction
