  • During the past four years, The Brooklyn College Foundation, Inc., has worked to respond effectively to the growing financial needs of the college. The $15 million Fund for the Future campaign was completed, generating funds for professorships, scholarships, and new facilities. The foundation increased financial support for Foundation Honors Scholarships, created an Annual Fund Committee, increased alumni volunteer opportunities, and strengthened the Board of Trustees with new members.
Dedicated to fulfilling its educational mission well into the twenty - first century, the college has undertaken a major endowment campaign, Fulfilling Aspirations: The Brooklyn College Campaign for Students. Funds from this campaign will enhance programs in four specific areas: honors programs, scientific research programs for faculty and students, fine arts programs, and preprofessional training. The campaign goal is to continue to attract the most talented students to Brooklyn College, offering financial support, paid internships, apprenticeships or research opportunities, and the opportunity to work closely with the finest faculty. This campaign will help Brooklyn College maintain and enrich its tradition of academic excellence.
Donald Kramer, ’58, chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Brooklyn College Foundation, Inc., has had a long-standing role in ensuring the financial wellbeing of the college community. His recently announced gift of one million dollars, the largest in the sixty-six year history of the college, ushers in a new era of philanthropy. He was honored by the college at the 1996 Best of Brooklyn dinner.
