The Post-fiftieth Alumni Reunion
by Roberta Rose Wallach, '53

On September 24, 2000, the classes of 1935, 1940, and 1945 were honored at the Post-fiftieth Alumni Reunion. The accomplishments of alumni receiving Lifetime Achievement Awards and their moving tributes to Brooklyn College were impressive.
The Second Harvest Award was given to Himan Brown, '34, a radio pioneer also known as "Mr. Radio-Drama." The award, a gift of $5000 established by Milton Fisher, '38, recognizes alumni who have distinguished themselves creatively, professionally, or in public or community service after the fiftieth anniversary of their graduation. Mr. Brown, who is also a winner of the prestigious Peabody Award, selected the Television and Radio Department to receive the grant and generously matched the award with $5000.
Graduates of 1936, 1941, and 1946-plan now to attend the Post-fiftieth Reunion on Sunday, September 30, 2001, honoring your classes.
