SETTING UP MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2000

  1. Look for the Microsoft Outlook (or Inbox) icon on your desktop and double click the icon. This will the begin the process of adding a profile. (If you don´t see it, you may need to install Microsoft Exchange on your computer.)

    NOTE If double-clicking on the Microsoft Outlook or Inbox icon does not work, or if you wish to add a second profile, do the following:

    1. Right Click on Inbox and move your mouse down to Properties.
    2. Click Show Profiles and then click Add.
    You should now be able to add your profile.

    The following screen will appear:

  2. Check only the Microsoft Exchange Server box. If any other boxes are checked, uncheck them by clicking on them once.
  3. Click Next.
  4. You will be asked for your profile name. Type in your full name as it appears on the Global Address List.
  5. Click Next
  6. You will now be asked for your Microsoft Exchange Server and your mailbox. In the space for Microsoft Exchange Server, type the server to which you were originally assigned. (It will be OUTLOOK). Type your user name in the Mailbox space.
  7. Click Next.
  8. You will be asked if you travel with your computer. Click No.
  9. Click Next.
  10. The next screen is directs Exchange where to store your personal address book. Delete the word mailbox and type your User ID.

    NOTE: The program may now try to start MS Exchange although we have not completed installation. If it does, choose Work Offline.

  11. The final setup is in your profile properties. Right click the Microsoft Outlook (or Inbox) icon and choose Properties, and then click Show Profiles. You will see a screen like the one below, with your name in place.

  12. Make sure your name is highlighted. Click Properties.

    You will see the following list:

  13. Choose Microsoft Exchange Server and click Properties again. You will see a screen displaying your Exchange Server and your mailbox name.

  14. Click the Check Name button and type the information in the appropriate box. If the information you have entered is correct, both your name and the Exchange Server are now underlined.
  15. Click the Advanced Tab. You will now see this screen:

  16. Make sure that Use Network Security During Logon is NOT checked. If it is checked, click it once to uncheck it. You are now finished and ready to log on.
  17. Click OK to close the windows and you can double click Microsoft/Inbox icon to start Exchange.
