Administrative offices, academic departments, faculty, and all official student clubs may apply to have their own web page on the college’s web server. To do this you need:
Faculty and departments may obtain an application either from Academic Computing Center, 019 Gideonse Library or at the Reception Desk at ITS 0607 Plaza. Student clubs may obtain an application directly from ITS. FTP accounts for existing BC Clubs have already been created. To obtain your account ID and password, the Club President should contact the ITS Web Group. Newly formed clubs need to complete a Student Club FTP Application. To obtain an application contact ITS Web Group at 677-6180 or via e-mail: netgroup@brooklyn.cuny.edu.
E-Mail and Postal mail share a common problem in that they both spawn Junk Mail. As many of you know, ITS has the capability to send e-mail messages to mostly every user on campus. This tool is used only to deliver announcements that are relevant, important, and of general interest to the entire BC community. These include campus-wide programs, major policy changes, theater productions, job fairs and other similar events.
If you have an announcement of this nature, please forward it to Mark Gold or David Best. It will be reviewed and broadcast if appropriate. Please allow 2-3 days turnaround and schedule your request accordingly.
If you want to create a "listserve" which allows individuals to voluntarily subscribe to an e-mail mailing list, please contact the Network Support Group at x5861.
Thank you for your cooperation.
