The Computer Center continuously updates its facilities to keep up with the ever-changing developments in technology. Recently, the Atrium staff completed an exhaustive course of upgrades and enhancements which benefits students and faculty.

Sixty-four Dell GX110 computers with full multimedia capabilities were installed in the Atrium's multimedia classroom and open areas. These new systems are fully loaded with the latest graphic, web design, and multimedia software. The new systems are excellent resources for the many new courses requiring multimedia tools.

The lab's Sun/Sparc/UNIX classroom has been greatly expanded with new high-end systems. A large complement of Sun systems has also been installed in the Wolfe Lab. Sun systems are heavily used for Webpage construction and Java programming.

An upgraded reservation system has been implemented to handle the increased demand for access to the labs. Lab users can benefit from new high-speed centralized printing that facilitates quick and reliable printout distribution. To further enhance lab accessibility and convenience, another entrance has been opened at the front of the Plaza Building.

These developments are only a portion of what the hardworking Atrium staff accomplishes daily! Stop by the labs to take advantage of these new enhancements.

Work in Progress: Library Construction 9/1/00 ITS' new conference room takes shape.

ITS, in partnership with the Publications Office, is pleased to announce the unveiling of BC's new Digital Photo Album.

To access this wonderful new site visit http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu, click on the photo in the upper left-hand corner (labeled, "Click to View Our Photo Album"), and you will be transported to a digital photo album illustrating campus life and activities.

On the main page you have the choice of viewing photos posted in the last thirty days, searching for photos by keyword, date, or category, or viewing photos that have been posted since your last visit. Pictures can be viewed as thumbnail or full size, with full captions.

The new Photo Album has been designed so that the Publications Office can continually load new images for instant access on the Web. Visit the Photo Album soon, and often to check out what's happening on campus!
