Brooklyn College Alumni Chapter Gathers in Newport Beach

     Brooklyn, N.Y. -- The Los Angeles/Southern California Chapter of the Brooklyn College Alumni Association will gather for a bus trip to Newport Beach on Sunday, August 20. A chartered bus will depart from the Fashion Square parking lot in Sherman Oaks, at 9:00 a.m. A second chartered bus will depart from AAA Auto Club parking lot at 4512 Sepulveda Boulevard, in Culver City, at 9:30 a.m.

     The event will feature a tour of Roger's Garden followed by a trip to the Fashion Island Shopping Center for shopping and lunch. Afterwards, a visit to the Newport Beach area will include stops at The Pier, Fun Area of Balboa Island, and Dory Fleet.

     A donation of $15 per person is requested. The proceeds will support the Marcus and Liff Scholarships for Disabled and Physically Challenged Students at Brooklyn College.

The chapter invites young alumni in the Los Angeles area to get involved and help plan events of interest to graduates of recent years.      Brooklyn College, founded in 1930 and located on a twenty-six acre tree-lined campus in Flatbush, is one of the eleven senior colleges of the City University of New York. It enrolls 15,000 undergraduate and graduate students who are representative of the diverse population of Brooklyn and New York City. The school is nationally known for its core curriculum, which has been hailed as one of the "bright spots" in American higher education.
