SpotlightBrooklyn, NY - How can higher education and arts organizations work together to promote diversity in the performing arts work force? This will be the topic of a panel discussion, "Career Opportunities for Multicultural Managers in the Performing Arts," at Brooklyn College on December 3 at 10:40 a.m. in the Student Union Building. Tobie S. Stein, director of the graduate program in performing arts management in the Department of Theater, will be the moderator.
Panelists will include: Donna Walker-Kuhne, director of community affairs, Public Theater, and national coordinator of community outreach for "Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk;" Woodie King, Jr., producing director, New Federal Theatre; David J. Vidal, director of research, Global Corporate Citizenship, Conference Board; and Lillian Cho, executive director, Asian American Arts Alliance.
The panel will consider ways to encourage people of color to enter and advance in the performing arts management field. There will also be a discussion of graduate fellowships, mentors, and internships in professional organizations.
