Jenna Ferrara’s enthusiasm is contagious according to her coach
Jenna Ferrara has been a leading contributor to the Brooklyn College Women’s Softball team during the season’s H.S. opening week. Hitting a team-best .533 in the team’s first six games, Ferrara had her best day on March 31 in a doubleheader win over the College of New Rochelle. Going five-for-five over the two games, Ferrara knocked a pair of doubles and a home run. She also had her first three RBIs of the season in that twin bill. First-year Head Coach Pete Grillo has been impressed with his starting shortstop, noting that, “Jenna plays with intensity and a lot of heart. Her enthusiasm is contagious.”
A sophomore physical education major, Ferrara was a two-sport standout at James Madison High School (softball and swimming).

Tommy Ma’s big leaps and record kills puts the Bridges in sound footing.
Tommy Ma recently completed a career season as a member of the Brooklyn College Men’s Volleyball team. Ma’s emergence as a dominant front-row player allowed a BC squad beset by injuries to advance to the CUNYAC Playoffs for the third consecutive season. After leading the conference and finishing third nationally with a 5.25 kills per game average, Ma was selected to the CUNYAC All Conference First Team. Included in Ma’s tremendous season was a record-breaking performance that saw him tally 41 kills against York College. In addition to his hitting prowess, Ma led the Bridges with 32 service aces.
A junior physical education major, Ma is no stranger to athletic accolades. As a member of the 2006 team that earned a NECVA Tournament berth, he was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Year in 2006. (The 2007 team also earned a NECVA Tournament berth.) |
