Brooklyn College senior pitcher Jaime Bellettini (Franklin K. Lane /
Glandale, NY) was selected as the CUNYAC Softball Player of the Week for
the reporting period ending April 20.
In five games this week for the Bridges, Bellettini batted .706
(12-for-17) with eight doubles, giving her a slugging percentage 1.177.
Bellettini put together a pair of 4-for-4 performances against York
(Apr. 19), driving in eight runs in the first game. In total Bellettini
drove in 17 runs on week, and is leading the team with 28 RBI on the
season. She also paces the Bridges with a .380 batting average, .720
slugging percentage, and six steals.
Bellettini was solid in the pitcher's circle this week as well, posting
a pair of complete game victories against York and SUNY Purchase,
respectively. She struck out 11 batters in 11 innings, surrendering
only eight hits. For the season, Bellettini has won five games and
struck out 80 batters in 66 innings.
This is the second consecutive week that a Brooklyn College player has
been named CUNYAC Player of the Week. Bellettini's teammate, shortstop
Jenna Ferrara (James Madison / Brooklyn, NY) earned the honor last week,
after posting a .462 batting average and seven RBI in a four game week.
