One of the Bard's earliest works, "The Two Gentlemen of Verona " features the romance, wit, and bawdy humor that came to define Shakespearean comedy. It tells the story of Valentine and Proteus, two young friends who travel from Verona to Milan and together learn about love, friendship, and what it means to be a gentleman. Director Valerie Clayman Pye holds an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College, as well as an MFA in Staging Shakespeare from the University of Exeter. She is currently working on a Ph.D. in Performance Practice, developing an acting methodology for Shakespeare based on the performance conditions at the Globe Theatre in London.
