Women’s Tennis Team Off to a Good Start
The Brooklyn College Women's Tennis Team (2-1, 1-1 CUNYAC) won for the second on Thursday, September 18 on the Roosevelt Courts, beating CUNYAC rival City Tech 9-0 for their first conference victory of 2008. Only a day earlier, the Bridges defeated Kean University (2-1) 5-4, marking their first home match for the season and the first in the collegiate career of head coach Lya Kushnirova.
The Bridges entire roster competed on Thursday and all players won their respective matches. In doubles action, the pairings of Ruth Perez and Alexandra Ovsiy, and Joy Rotstein and Erika Gil each won 8-0.
In singles competition, Perez, Ovsiy, Gil, Rotstein, Nadine Alexander, and Ogechi Egbuchulam all enjoyed straight set victories.
Brooklyn returns to the court on Tuesday, September 23, taking on CUNYAC foe Medgar Evers College at 4:00 pm. The match will be played at Brooklyn's Roosevelt Courts.
