People Cannot Live Under Water
In the past few weeks, Haiti, one of the poorest nations in the Western world, was severely affected by the impact of hurricanes Gustav and Ike. The Gonaives public hospital, the only one capable of servicing the flooded area north of Port-au-Prince, has only 110 beds. Nearly 60,000 people have been displaced from their homes and currently remain in shelters.
Food, water, tents, and other emergency supplies are in dire need. Do your part to help the victims of this natural disaster. Join the sisters of Omega phi Beta, Lambda Chapter, in their attempt to provide relief.
Monies will be collected and sent to Unitransfer.com. Every $150 collected will allow the sorority to send a barrel of bottled water, rice, beans, condensed milk, and other basic staples.
To make a donation, stop at the sorority’s table at Whitehead Hall. Or go to the Center for Student Development and Leadership Programs, Student Center, Third Floor. Or email them at lambda@omegaphibeta.org
