Emmy Award winning journalist and Brooklyn College alumnus, John Noel of NBC News 4 New York comes to Brooklyn College. He will be speaking to Professor Perez's Television and Radio Journalism class and Professor Boutros' graduate Broadcast Journalism class.
An Emmy Award-winning journalist, John Noel joined News 4 New York in February 1998 as a General Assignment Reporter covering local and national events. He came to News 4 New York from WJBK in Detroit, where he was a general assignment reporter for five years. Prior to that, he worked for more than 10 years in the same capacity at the NBC affiliate KSDK in St. Louis, MO. |

A Brooklyn native, Noel graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn College and received a master's degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. A member of the United States Air Force for four years, Noel while stationed in Nakhom Phanom, Thailand, was assigned to the Armed Forces Radio and Television Network as a radio programmer and announcer.
He was the recipient of the New York State Broadcasters Award in 1999 and the Tenants Council of Brooklyn Award for Excellence in Broadcast Television. Noel has also received the City Comptroller's Office Distinguished Record of Achievement as a Broadcast Reporter Award. Noel resides in New York with his wife and daughter. His wife, Benita Alexander-Noel is an Emmy Award winning producer for Dateline NBC. |
