Toys for Tots

As the holiday season begins to draw near, for the 10th year, we are gearing for our annual Toys for Tots Campaign. The United States Marine Corps Reserves have been making holiday wishes come true for many years, and it is through our hard work and generous spirits that we provide toys to needy children.
The office will now begin collecting new unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots campaign through December 18.
Please deliver all contributions to the Physical Education & Exercise Science Department - room 107 R. If you have any questions, please contact Teresa Timo at ext. 5514.
These generous contributions have enabled us to help fulfill the Christmas dreams of our nations neediest children. We appreciate your continued contributions.

Partnering for Change to Make a Difference: The 2008 CUNY Campaign for Voluntary Charitable Giving
The annual CUNY Campaign for Voluntary Charitable Giving is underway, and I write to encourage you to participate. This important fund-raising effort offers each of us an opportunity to contribute to any of more than nine hundred social service, health, and educational organizations serving the city, the nation, and the world. Closer to home, the campaign also includes CUNY named scholarship funds and the Brooklyn College Foundation.
Ms. Connie DiGeronimo, from Institutional Advancement, serves as this year’s Brooklyn College campaign coordinator. She will send you information about the campaign, along with a brochure that lists the many participating charitable organizations included.
You can also ask questions of one of the captains from the various offices on campus:
Anna Johnson, Institutional Advancement
Bruce Filosa, Athletics
Kathy Napoli, TV/Radio
Rochelle Cabram, Public Safety
Valerie Stewart-Lovell, Center for Student Disability Services
Joe Fodor, Brooklyn College Foundation
Marianne LaBatto, Library
Claire Borrello, Budget & Planning
Stress Reduction through Acupuncture
Wednesday, December 3, 2008
Alumni Lounge, Student Center
Noon to 2 p.m.
The holidays are coming, the holidays are coming! If you’re already starting to stress out about your long gift list, equally long lines at the mall, and a holiday dinner menu for a dozen relatives that will keep you cooking for days, Human Resources has just the thing for you.
Dr. Warner Chen, who has been trained at New York University and Harvard in ways to relieve pain through acupuncture, will help participants in this seminar discover how stress negatively affects the body. He will discuss the simple things that can be done at work and at home to reduce the negative effects of stress. He will also present methods for reducing physical stress and tension by locating trigger points.
Enter the raffle for a session with Dr. Chen and other therapeutic gifts!
Space is limited, so reserve your seat early.
Contact Ms. Shuk Tsoi, 718.951.5131 or stsoi@brooklyn.cuny.edu.
Bring your lunch. Beverages and dessert will be provided. |
