Film Professor Signs On to Help Aid Fishing Villages in India Devastated by Tsunami

Brooklyn College filmmaker Annette Danto has been designated by the U.S. Educational Foundation in India as the U.S. contact person for the Fulbright Tsunami Relief Effort Committee. The committee is engaged in the following:

•Media and e-mail communication to maintain awareness of the situation

•An outreach to alumni and current and future Fulbright scholars to perform on-site such service work as reconstruction projects and support for counseling.

•Fundraising events in the United States.

•Curriculum development on such relevant subjects as disaster management, trauma counseling, environmental assessment, and public health.
