The new Brooklyn College Directory is a database driven application accessible from the college's new Web page at www.brooklyn.cuny.edu. It includes expanded information about departments/offices, faculty and staff. It lists the department/office name, location, phone number, department/office description, Department Web Page (URL), Chair person or Area Head, etc. It also provides faculty/staff information such as last name, first name, title, phone number, E-mail address, and Web Page information.
This database not only provides information for Web access, but also will be used to directly produce the printed phone book, to load the directories on the BCLINK kiosks, and will be made accessible on the college network. Thus, what used to involve maintaining multiple instances of the information has now been reduced to a single repository, which we hope can be better maintained and stay more accurate.
You are our partner in keeping this information up-to-date. In order to facilitate user feedback and official submission of corrections, a "correction facility" has been published on the directory web page. To ensure that corrections are directed to the appropriate clerical staff and that the submitting party has appropriate authority to do so, the correction facility is divided into three different forms. These forms allow users to submit their personal web page URL's for publication, allow a department chair to submit corrections on behalf of their area and on behalf of their staff.
Only authorized users with a "Correction Access ID" can submit telephone and department correction forms. The ID authorizes the holder to submit corrections for entries in their specific area only. Each department should have received a Correction ID. If you have not received the ID, contact the Client Database Group at ITS (718/951-5861). You are responsible for the ID assigned to you and we urge you to safeguard it!
Please note that submitting corrections does NOT effect the change online. The correction is automatically routed to the Telecommunications Office or the ITS Web Group and they will make the corrections after verifying the requested change.
How to use the Correction ID:
To get to the correction forms do the following:
- Open the Web Browser.
- Write in the location of the page: http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu
- Navigate to DIRECTORY.
- Click on Submit Directory Corrections.
- Click on the Correction Form you would like to use and fill out the information.

The Telephone Directory Correction form includes name, phone, location, and e-mail information for faculty, staff, departments or offices.
You can modify either department/office or faculty/staff information using this form.
You MUST enter last name and first name for faculty and staff. If this is a department correction (location, phone number, or e-mail modification) then please do NOT enter an individual's name.
You have to select the department and building name from the given list.
You can enter any Special Instructions for the fields you are modifying as a note to the department that makes those corrections for you.
The Department Name, Room Number, Building Name, Phone Extension and Correction Access ID are required to make any changes using this correction form. Other fields are optional.
Please check the radio button at the bottom of the correction form to show if your changes are a Correction, Addition or Deletion.
Make sure that all fields marked with asterisk (*) are filled out. Otherwise, you will not be able to submit your corrections.
Click on SUBMIT to send the correction form to the Telecommunication Department and they will make the changes for you.

The Department Description Correction Form includes department description, web page (URL), and manager listings for departments and offices.
If you want to change the department/office description or the department/office web page (URL), please fill out he "Department Description" (must me 700 characters or less) and/or "Web page" boxes.
If you want to modify your department or office's top four listed managers, please enter the title, last name and first name for each person. The top listed managers are chair person/head of the department, deputy chairperson, director, manager, supervisor, etc.
Please select your Department Name from a given list. You can also write Special Instructions concerning your changes to the department that makes the changes for you as a note.
The Department Name, Phone Extension, and Correction Access ID are required to submit the form to the ITS Web Support Group.
Make sure that all fields marked with asterisk (*) are filled out. Otherwise, you will not be able to submit your corrections.
Before you submit the correction form, please check one of the radio buttons at the bottom of the correction form if your changes are Correction, Addition, or Deletion.
Then click on SUBMIT button and your form will be posted to the department that will make the corrections for you.

The Faculty Web Page Correction Form includes web page URL information for faculty who would like to post their personal web page URL information on the Brooklyn College web page.
NO Correction Access ID is required to submit this form.
Please enter the last name, first name, department name, phone extension and web page URL information so that the ITS Web Support Group may verify the update request for your web page link.
Please select Department Name from a given list.
Also, you may enter your e-mail address and special instructions concerning your changes.
Before you submit the correction form, please check one of the radio buttons at the end of the correction form to show if your changes are Correction, Addition, or Deletion.
Make sure that all fields marked with asterisk (*) are filled out. Otherwise, you will not be able to submit your corrections.
Then click on SUBMIT button and your form will be posted to the ITS Web Support Group who will make the corrections for you.
