THE BROOKLYN COLLEGE STUDENT CENTER is familiarly known as SUBO from the acronym for "Student Union Building Organization," which was the name of the all College commitee involved in the initial planning of the Campus Road building.
The Student Center, established at the request of the student body and financed and supported by a student fee, was opened in the fall of 1962. Two floors were added in 1968, and the Penthouse was completed in 1973.
The Center has public, semi-public, and reserved rooms providing a wide variety of space for every type of program and service.
