Whitman Hall
WHITMAN HALL was named for Walt Whitman, the American poet, born in 1819, who lived and worked in Brooklyn.
The hall has a 2,500-seat auditorium and is the work center for the performing arts.
"Now understand me well--It is provided in the essence of things, that from any fruition of
success, no matter what, shall come forth something to make a greater struggle necessary. "
(From Whitman's "The Song of the Open Road")
