AMST 3144: Asia in The Caribbean

Asian presence in the Caribbean. Critical survey of the history, role, image and contributions of Asian people to the formation of Caribbean identity. Examination of indentureship, slavery, case studies of Asian descendants, Asian Caribbean contributions to art and culture, politics, social relations and Asia?s investments in the contemporary Caribbean. This class is the same at CAST 3070.
