ANTH 3510 Native American and Indigenous Studies of North America
3 hours; 3 credits
A survey of important moments in Indigenous peoples? history, including as it relates to the nation
building of the United States of America. Focus on settler colonialism, Indigenous sovereignty, and
Indigenous futurity. May combine critical anthropological theory, history, social media, and popular
culture such as music, film, and literature to better situate and understand the myriad Indigenous
nations of North America in the present. This course is the same as American Studies 3104
Prerequisite: ANTH*1000 or 2100 or 1100 or 1200 or 1300 or 1400, or permission of the chairperson
