ANTH 3520 Latin America
3 hours; 3 credits
Pre- and post-Conquest peoples and cultures of Central and South America, and the Caribbean; impact of European colonization; Asian & African influence, post-independence political and economic development; contemporary racial and identity politics; religion and social movements; urbanization and international migration. This course is the same as Puerto Rican and Latino Studies 3210.
Prerequisite: Anthropology *1000 or 2100 or 1100 or 1200 or 1300 or 1400, or permission of the chairperson.
