A special topic in environmental science not covered in the regular curriculum. Topics vary and reflect the interest of students and faculty. Subject matter is announced before registration. Topics include aquatic science, environmental systems, technological applications, contemporary issues, and other related environmental subjects. A student may take this course and Earth and environmental science 4000 at most three times in total, but may not repeat topics.

Prerequisite: Earth and environmental science 1101, 1201, at least twelve (12) additional credits in Earth and Environmental Sciences courses and permission of the instructor.
