Slavery and the slave trade. Comparative early origins of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, French and English colonial development in the Caribbean and American mainland from Columbus to the Treaty of Utrecht.
Alternatively, may satisfy credit requirements in African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American, Middle Eastern History.
Prerequisite: Core Studies 4 or Core Curriculum 1220 [2.2] or permission of the chairperson.
