PSYC 3520 Sensation and Perception
3 hours; 3 credits
An examination of sensory systems, including detection, encoding, and perceptual qualities of chemical, somatosensory, auditory, and visual systems. Topics include receptor mechanisms, sensory psychophysics, cortical representations, and high-order perceptual capacities, emphasizing contemporary methods used in research.
Prerequisite: Psychology 1000 and 2600 or 3600
