CHST 2100 Intro to Child and Youth Studies

This course provides an interdisciplinary overview of the key concepts, theories, and methods in the study of children and youth. Emphasizing the importance of young people?s agency and diverse lived experiences, students will explore how childhood and youth are shaped by social, cultural, political, and economic forces and by the social sciences. Through participatory discussions, projects, and reflections, students will connect course material to their own expertise and experiences, developing perspectives on the roles of children and youth in society.
Prerequisite: English 1010 or permission of the program director.
