HIST 3418 Daughters of the Promised Land: Women in American History
3 hours; 3 credits
Rich variety of U.S. women?s historical experiences from precolonial times to the present. Gender intersections with race, class, ethnicity, sexuality, and nationality in the areas of work, education, legal status, public lives, family lives, religion, and popular culture. Social movements including feminism and civil rights. Changing images of women; debates over gender roles and expectations. This course is the same as WGST 3228.
