Readings from the two major Roman lyric poets, Catullus and Horace. Translation of their work and study of its style, themes and imagery, meter, relationship to Greek models, and social context. Students may take this course for credit twice but may not repeat the same texts.
Prerequisite: Latin 3112  or Latin 2119 [1.9] or permission of the chairperson.
