Statistics as a sociological mode of thinking and reasoning. Statistical methods suitable for sociological data. Critical survey of major sociological statistical studies. Recommended only for sociology majors. (Not open to students who are enrolled in or have completed any of the following: Business 3400 [30.2], Economics 3400 [30.2], Political Science 12.5, 3422 [57], Psychology 2400 [40.1], 2600 [50], Mathematics 3501 [51.1].)

Prerequisite: six credits in Sociology Department courses numbered 11 or higher; and, for nonsociology majors, written permission from the chairperson of the student?s major department and the chairperson of the Sociology Department.
