The Department of Computer and Information Science offers a certificate program in computers and programming. To be eligible for the certificate, students must earn 24 credits. Students must apply to the Office of Student Records for their certificates upon completion of program requirements. The certificate in computers and programming will be issued upon the completion of the program with a grade of C or better in each course.

Admission requirements are described under the heading "Certificate programs" in the chapter "Admission" in the Undergraduate Bulletin. Students are required to pass the CUNY Assessment Tests for admission.

Additional courses in the Computer and Information Science department numbered 3000 or above as needed to bring the total number of credits to 24.

In some cases, the department will permit students to take prerequisite courses as corequisites. Students may apply up to two courses of transfer credits towards the certificate.
