Degree Requirements (65-69 credits)

All of the following:
Computer and Information Science 1115 or 1170, 3115, 3130, 3810, 4900 or 5001.
Students unfamiliar with PC application software (word processing, spreadsheet software, database management software, and presentation software) should also complete Computer and Information Science 1050. Knowledge of such software is prerequisite for Computer and Information Science 3810.

Three courses chosen from the following:
Computer and Information Science 3140, 3142, 3160, 3171, 3220, 3310, 3320, 3325, 3340, 3345, 3350, 3410, 3610, 3620, 3630, 3650, 3800, and 3820.

For those who choose to take Mathematics 2501 or 3501, Mathematics 1011 or Mathematics 1012 is required. A waiver for Mathematics 1011 or Mathematics 1012 can be obtained from the Mathematics department conditional on the outcome of an appropriate placement exam.

Additional requirements for a B.S. degree

Candidates for a B.S. degree with a major in information systems must complete at least 60 credits in science and mathematics and advanced courses numbered 2000 or above in the Departments of Accounting; Computer and Information Scienc; Economics; Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship; and/or Finance. Among the 60 credits, 24 credits must be completed in advanced courses in the Departments of Accounting; Computer and Information Science; Economics; Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship; and/or Finance. These 24 credits must be completed at Brooklyn College with a grade of C or higher in each course. The following courses may be applied toward the 60 credits in science and mathematics:
A) All courses in the departments of biology, chemistry, computer and information science, earth and environmental sciences, mathematics, physics, and psychology.
B) Courses marked with a number sign (#) in the Department of Health and Nutrition Sciences.
