Department requirements (24-27 credits)

It is recommended that majors in the Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders department meet with an adviser in the first year of studies.

Students may not offer more than six credits for a baccalaureate degree from Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 4270, 5271, 5272, and 5273.

The Speech Communication Arts and Sciences Core consists of the following items, 1 through 4.

1.Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 1608 or 1619 or 4666.
2.Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 1113.
3.Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 1714 or 1715 or 1717.
4.Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 5275W.

Majors must complete the course requirements in one of the following areas.

I. Communication Studies (27 credits)

Items 2, 3, and 4 of the Speech Communication Arts and Sciences Core
Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 1205; 1707; 1619; and 2623.

In addition, majors must select at least six (6) credits chosen from the following: Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 1618, 2719, 4625, 3235, 4646, 4260, or 4666.

Items 1, 2, and 4 of the Speech Communication Arts and Sciences Core.
Fifteen (15) credits chosen from the following: Communication Arts, Sciences, and Disorders 1715; 1716; 1717; 2724; 2725; 4744.
