Program requirements (30 credits)

Students must complete Tiers I through IV, as follows:

Tier I: Foundations of Children's Studies (3 credits)

Children's Studies 2100.

Tier II: The Interdisciplinary Perspective (21 credits)

a) Four of the following courses: Children's Studies 2200, 3110, 36101, 3410, 3310, 3620, 3510, 3430, 3130.

b) Three of the following courses: Africana Studies 3335; Education 2002; English 3189 or Speech 1717 or Speech 2231; Health and Nutrition Sciences 2170 or 3170; History 3320 or 3457 (crosslisted as Children's Studies 3120); Psychology 2210 or 3220 or 3240; Puerto Rican and Latino Studies 2005; Sociology 2400 or 2401.

Tier III: Advanced Inquiry in Children's Studies (3 credits)

One of the following courses: Children's Studies 4200, 5100, 4100.

Tier IV: Advanced Research in Children's Studies (3 credits)

Children's Studies 4900.
