Admission Requirements for graduate program

Supporting Documents for Matriculation:
Submit the following documents to the Office of Graduate Admissions:

1.Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended (applicants who earned a bachelor's degree outside the United States need to submit a 'Course by Course International Transcript Evaluation.' http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/web/admissions/graduate/apply/documents.php)

2. Two letters of recommendation

3. Resume

4. Photocopy of New York State or other state teaching certificate

5. A biographical statement of 500 to 1,000 words describing your reasons for pursuing the specific graduate program to which you are applying and your future professional goals.

6. Writing sample in English and Language other than English (the language in which the candidate seeks the extension).

Applicants must demonstrate proficiency in both English and in a language other than English (the language in which they seek the extension.) Proficiency in the language other than English is by a writing sample in English and the language other than English and/or through an interview with the applicant. International applicants for whom English is a second language are required to pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 550 on the paper-based test or 213 on the computer-based test or 79 on the internet-based test, before being considered for admission

7. Interview with a faculty member.


8. REQUIRED TEST:
1. I F-1 or J-1 international students must submit English Proficiency Exam. TOEFL- 79, IELTS- 6.5, PTE- 58-63, Duolingo 105-160.


Interview with department and writing samples in English and the language other than English are required for admission to the Bilingual Education MSED.

All students accepted in to the School of Education are required to submit fingerprint verification before signing up for most education classes. Verification is needed if you already have fingerprint records or not.
