Student Housing Development
3/4/2008An opportunity has presented itself that will allow Brooklyn College to better serve its students by facilitating their access to newly constructed, and reasonably priced local housing. A private developer is currently constructing a multistory residence with his own resources, on a lot two blocks from campus at the corner of Farragut Rd. and Kenilworth Place, offering rental units that will house approximately 220 Brooklyn College students.

The developer and the College have agreed that the College will alert students to the availability of this housing, and refer interested students to apply for the units, in what will be a privately owned and operated residence hall. The residence will house students in a variety of differently configured apartments and is projected to be available for rental in Spring 2009.
The College has agreed to provide such a service as part of a strategy which will allow us to continue to compete in attracting talented undergraduates and graduate students who wish to pursue their educations at Brooklyn College.
