Federal Education Leadership Fellows Program

If so, the Federal Education Leadership Fellows Program is the program for you!
The Federal Education Leadership Fellows Program is a partnership of the New York City Department of Education (NYC DOE), Brooklyn College, Bank Street College,
and the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators (CSA).
OVERVIEW – The program includes:
- An 18-month, 36-credit university program leading to School Building Leader (SBL) and School District Leader (SDL) certification and increased proficiency in the NYC DOE School Leadership Competencies
- A blended learning model including in-person coursework supplemented by innovate online curriculum, e-learning tools, and interactive simulations based on real challenges leaders face in NYC public schools
- An internship in a NYC public school
- Sessions with a cohort of peers to discuss experiences, successes, and challenges from internships
- Support in finding placement as an Assistant Principal in a high-need school setting
- One-on-one mentoring and ongoing training once on-the-job as an Assistant Principal

- $2,500 in tuition reimbursement upon successfully completing the program and state certification
- $1,250 for obtaining an assistant principal position in a NYC SINI, SURR, or Corrective Action school and receiving satisfactory ratings
- Another $1,250 possible upon completion of a second successful year with satisfactory ratings
- Gain access to mentors and ongoing training from once you are in an assistant principal position
CRITERIA – We are looking for passionate educators who:
- Exhibit a strong desire to impact achievement in high-needs, under-performing schools
- Have at least 3 years of full-time K-12 classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrate the potential to be an effective school leader and evidence of the NYC DOE School Leadership Competencies
