International transcripts must be evaluated by a private evaluation agency before an applicant can be considered for a graduate program at Brooklyn College. This evaluation must include a course-by-course analysis indicating the type of diploma/degree received, the U.S. equivalency of the diploma/degree, the graduation date, and a cumulative grade point average. This document will serve as a tool to better understand your educational background and academic credentials.
We recommend that you allow ample time between the evaluation and the application deadline, especially if you are currently residing outside of the United States and require a student visa.
How to have your foreign transcripts evaluated:
STEP 1:
Contact one of the following three evaluation agencies. Have your official report mailed either to you or Brooklyn College. (If you are mailing the report directly to Brooklyn College, please use the mailing address provided below.) Brooklyn College will only accept evaluations from:
Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) Phone: 414-289-3400 http://www.ece.org
American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO)
Phone: 202-296-3359 www.aacrao.org (click on Foreign Education Credential Service)
World Education Services (WES) Phone: 212-966-6311 www.wes.org
The fee for this service and the time required for completion of the evaluation varies with each agency.
STEP 2:
Request two official transcripts from your university. Have one transcript sent to the evaluation agency, and the other sent directly from your university to the Office of Admissions.
