For over sixty years, the department's graduate programs have been a center of education and research for the city of New York. The many illustrious alumni in the field of chemistry include Nobel Laureate Stanley Cohen. With a supportive environment and small classes, students from a diverse population work closely with faculty. The department offers exciting opportunities for graduate students to pursue their goals in diverse areas of research in a dedicated campus building with over fifty thousand square feet of research and lab space.
