A member of the Department of Anthropology and Archaeology since September, 1972, Prof. Gustav has taught a full range of subjects centered around the interaction between biology and culture. By far, the most popular course she teaches is "Anthropological Perspectives on Sexual Behavior."
Trained in the identification of human skeletal material, she has investigated aspects of skeletal form and variation in populations from Dickson Mounds, Illinois, Mendes, Egypt, and Sirmium, Yugolavia.

Areas of Expertise:
The human skeleton, its growth and development, sexual dimorphism, as well as its identification and excavation in an archaeological context.
