I began my undergraduate career at the University of Chicago, and I discovered philosophy in Philosophy 1.1 at Brooklyn College in the summer of that year. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Pennsylvania in 1973, and, in the fall of that year, I returned to Brooklyn College as an assistant professor. I am currently Chair of the Philosophy Department.
